We just returned from Calgary, Alberta for John's youngest brother Mark's wedding to Karen. What a trip!!! We caravaned with the other siblings and their spouses/families. The trip was interesting from the get-go. Our trip was stalled by over 6 hours when John's older brother was stuck at the border- they weren't going to let him in!! They finally did but we still had a 10 hour drive ahead of us. Because we were off to such a late start, we ended up not making it all the was as planned and ended up piling into Jamie and Rachel's camper to sleep along the side of the road- all 10 of us! We actually got a decent nights rest! The next morning, we drove the rest of the way to Calagary and went straight to the zoo. What a great treat for all of the kids! It was super fun and they had a 5 week old baby gorilla, so cute! Noah kept leaning down to the glass and kissing it and giving it hugs. He loved seeing all of the animals up close.
We went later that night to the camp and saw where we'd be staying for the rest of the weekend. Not my first choice but it'd do. Poor Matt, Harm, and kids were stuck upstairs where it was a thousand degrees. John and I had one of the downstairs rooms where it was much cooler.
We spent the next few days hanging out and going to parties and dinners for the wedding. That part was very well organized. The mosquitos were ridiculous however, and made it challenging to get the kids outside.
The wedding was beautiful but I'm super sad to say I missed almost the entire thing. It was right during Noah's dinner and bedtime so he wasn't happy to sit quietly in the sancuary. He ran around and yelled for either John or I so I had to finally take him out. :(
The drive home we went through the states and it added about 6-7 hours to the drive. we ended up staying the night on the road again in Ritzville and got home the next afternoon. We were SO HAPPY to be home. It was an exhausting trip!!!
